Fragrance Description. Spicy citrus tango hovering on complex, warm-metallic foundation. One interpretation is masculine floral, abated through woody sunshine. A classic, mellow man in his secure domain. Low lift, distinctive yet not intrusive. Defies traditional fragrance classification.
Background. “Blue” is an illusive fragrance unto its own category by Douglas Hopkins, inspired by his original, historical Prastara Royal cologne. He successfully shifted the fresh citrus theme of Prastara from day to evening wear. The flagship bottle is hand-produced; corked and hand-sealed in an elegant, cobalt-blue, long-necked, classic bottle. Hints of West Coast 60’s, untamed SoCal, surfing, sun, hippy freedom, the languid beach life, with further flashes-back to the 30’s, of cabin-crafted wood and the hand-riveted, aluminum gleam of the Pan Am Clipper lifting out over San Francisco Bay, the famous flying boat underway to exotic South Pacific islands.

Fragrance Summary. Top notes - Pineapple, Coconut, Plum, Lemon, Bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli, Lavender, Fir, Spices. Middle notes - Cyclamen, Geranium, Jasmine, Carnation, Heliotrope, Cinnamon. Base notes - Vanilla, Patchouli, Amber, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Musk.

Premium, flagship bottle secured with traditional “cork knot” cord tie, a specially prepared premium Portuguese cork and MG-TD red cap wrap, with a full six ounces, largest in the market. The old Boston mill, 1940’s high-quality war-surplus, cotton cord encircles the neck, knotted and drawn down under the label, then hand-stamped with an authentic wax impression of exceptional depth. This traditional seal of royal commission is executed in a shade of forest green laced with flecks of gold custom formulated by the ancient Gutenberg sealing-wax factory.
